I have had a nasty virus and have been trudging through the holiday plans like an army-crawling soldier. This morning my son asked me for eggs and waffles as soon as I opened my eyes.
I was less than enthusiastic, but I am the adult in this scenario, so I made him breakfast and we talked a little bit. I brought my coffee back to my bedroom.
I heard a bunch of rattling and clanking. I was a little annoyed as his brother was still sleeping. I walked to my door to see my son taking care of his trash and dirty dishes. A few things came to mind: I am raising a considerate and responsible little boy. His future spouse will thank me one day.
My little boy is growing up and becoming more independent right before my eyes. I was able to feed my hungry child this morning. My son smiled at me because he knows he can count on me. Virus or not, that is some good stuff, Mama.
If you’re tired or under the weather I invite you to look at the magic happening around you. Not everyone can do what you do.
Some are incapable, some are not there, some are living in hunger. Find the moment of joy and gratitude. Those moments are God’s reminders of how blessed you truly are. ❤
The Lord bless you and keep you;
the Lord make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you;
the Lord lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace.
