Gift Guide of a Hot Mess Mama

2 Corinthians 9:7

Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.

Oh, Mama! I feel like I have hit the jackpot. I am pretty proud of myself! I have been searching for gifts that are meaningful, affordable, and are sure to be a hit. I have some hard-to-shop for people in my life. Maybe you can relate. You know the grandmas that don’t want any more “stuff”? How about the people who can never name anything for you to give them? What about those you do not have a close, personal relationship with? How about all those friends? I have spent the better part of a week shopping for those folks!

I was too excited by my finds not to share and as we approach the hectic holidays, I’m hoping that my research will be a big help to you. All you have to do is click the pictures below if you are interested! That is what we are here for, right? Let’s help each other out. I have been blessed with two wonderful grandmas to shop for. Here are some things I found for them!

Because she has so much “stuff” already…

This sweet prayer journal is designed for a woman’s heart. I seem to always find nice slippers for my Nana, but why not something she can read while she wears them?! This gift is meaningful, interactive, and takes up so little space. There is scripture, but there is also a section to track all of your answered prayers. I thought this was so sweet and would inspire so much gratitude. This gift is under $10! I thought about some other ladies in my life that may enjoy this prayer journal…and may or may not have put myself on that list!

My husband’s grandmother, Dot, has pictures everywhere in her home. When you enter her house it is like walking into a museum of family history. I have been there a thousand times and can still locate a picture I have never seen. I fell in love with this scrapbook. Both my husband and I come from a long line of folks on the go! We travel and see all sorts of sights. Our kids have a crazy amount of extracurricular activities and the children are always up to something. We thought this was a perfect way to display these moments without taking up another wall in a home. Robert’s mother is a pro at scrapbooking and we envisioned the moments the children would have with her designing their scrapbook pages! At under $13, this scrapbook is a steal! Add a dinner out with the family and boom! Grandma is taken care of!

I have so many mamas in my tribe. They are the ones that ask for nothing and give constantly. If I need anything, I have a yard full of mamas to the rescue. They never expect anything in return. They’re angels. Anxious, tired, hard-working, kind-hearted angels. I don’t have to take out a second mortgage to show these women how much I appreciate all of them.

Because she is one of us…

Y’all…this devotional is spot-on and is less than $5! Yes…I’m serious! It is a light read that is perfect for any busy mama. The readings and prayers in this devotional are targeted at anxiety and worry. They are designed to alleviate those burdens and encourage women to give it to God and remember who is in charge. With the price point, I’m able to gift something life-changing to all sorts of women in my life! I am stoked!

Let’s face it, us mamas want something functional or something to make life easier. I fell in love with this adorable planner. Between doctor’s appointments, birthday parties, shared custody/visitation hours, my husband’s scheduling, and various deadlines, I can’t get enough help managing my family’s time! I know that I am not alone in that need. This planner is not only full of inspirational quotes, which you know I dig, but also lists funny holidays like National Donut Day. You know if there is a donut sale going on, your girl needs to be prepared. Ha! This beauty weighs in at only $6.99 and qualifies for Prime shipping!

I am one of those people that gives gifts to my postal worker. I think about how hard they work especially during the holidays and my heart just goes out to them. This is one of the busiest times of the year and with all of my online shopping, I keep them busy. They may as well get something extra out of the deal.

Because they work so hard…

I thought this ornament was the sweetest thing. I imagine it would be easy to get burnt out this time of year in the delivery business. What better reminder that you’re appreciated and that you matter than something you can hang on your tree every year? This ornament is precious and is less than $12!!

Oh, yes I did. How delicious does this sound? For just under $6, you can gift the trash pick-up folks, the mail-person, and even yourself on a budget! Our mailman, Justin, left us a thank you card several years ago and I will never forget what it said. Justin told us that our Christmas candy would likely be his lunch and he was so grateful to have it! I had wished that I could fit a bucket of chicken in my mailbox after reading that. Small things can mean the most to people. I always include something edible because of Justin’s card!

Last, but certainly not least, let’s talk teachers. Our children are spirited and our children are loud. I definitely try to always do something special for the teachers in our lives. They do so much and have the patience of saints. I had to show the teachers some love this holiday season!

Because they have really earned it…

And the winner goes to….that mug! I died laughing when I saw this coffee mug and let’s be real, if you have kids like ours, the teacher would need a sense of humor to survive! This gift is under $12, is one-of-a-kind, and is sure to make a teacher smile! But, let’s not forget my other favorite, slightly inappropriate find…

And all God’s teachers said Amen! I am not a drinker, but I can appreciate the spirit of this glass. There are a few teachers in the family who might be seeing this under their Christmas tree. This gift is cute, funny, and under $20! I always like to throw in sweets and coffee for the kids’ teachers, but these make brilliant holders and there is no need to wrap them!

I hope that this was a helpful start or even finish to your holiday shopping, you Hot Mess Mamas! I always feel stuck this time of year and the last thing I want is to give someone something without meaning or purpose. I want to know that what I am gifting folks will show them I love them, God loves them, and that they are appreciated! If you have found some awesome, budget-friendly gifts, I would love to hear about them! Please share!
